Description
ARA-290 is an 11-amino-acid peptide corresponding to the Helix B domain of erythropoietin. It has been characterized in the literature as a selective ligand for the innate repair receptor, a heteromeric complex of the EPO receptor and the beta-common receptor (CD131). Unlike erythropoietin itself, ARA-290 does not activate the classical homodimeric EPO receptor and is described as non-erythropoietic. Researchers have examined it in preclinical models of neuropathic and inflammatory signaling, and in published clinical literature on small-fiber neuropathy.
- Characterized as a selective innate repair receptor ligand in vitro
- Non-erythropoietic – does not stimulate erythropoiesis in published models
- Small-fiber neuropathy endpoints examined in published clinical literature (Dahan et al.)
